Yarn Logic
Ladies,
It's been a while since any of us has posted here... rather boring eh? We're bound to lose the 1.4 readers that we have if we dont straighten up and fly right! We'll do a project update, then I will share with you some words of wisdom I have just found in my new book.
Christmas Knitting & Crocheting:
Tracie's Socks - done and given (woulda been nice to have you show these nice people the pretty sock I knit you! Just saying).
Dad's socks - done
Dani's socks - done
Mom's sweater (mom, no peeking) - done
Jake's sweater - done
Baby projects:
Birthing socks - 1 is done the other has most of it's top ribbing, so it's maybe 1/18 done.
Sean's hoodie - done
booties (sorry, no pics)- done but need buttons
hat (nope, no pics here either)- about half done.
See... Christmas is moving right along. Birthing is moving right along. Onto my new book.
For my birfday, Tracie got me a Barnes & Noble gift card. And since I love her I decided to buy myself something crochet related - and got the 2007 Crochet Pattern a Day calendar. And also because a) I had some left over and b) I would like to become a real knitter someday I got a book called "The Cool Girls Guide to Knitting". Because I want to be a cool girl. Someday. Anyway, I'm in the first bit and it's talking about how knitting got its start and then became out of fashion but is now coming back very strong. It gives many reasons why people knit and where people knit and with whom people knit. I've just run into a few lines that made me laugh. Out loud even.
"Once you start knitting you'll find that you start communicating with your fellow knitters, sometimes pouring out your emotions and you can end up disclosing all your secrets. Knitting is also an excellent way of giving up smoking, as your hands are kept busy and, in any case, you might set fire to your yarn (hehehehe). It's cheaper than psychotherapy (indeed) and who wants to sit on a couch with nothing to do?"
Oh the laughter. Well, you ladies have a fabulous weekend, Dani let Jess know we wish her well in her game tonight!
