Another Yarn

Name:

Just a blog between three friends, one a knitter who sometimes crochets (or so it seems), one a crocheter who struggles to learn knitting, and the other who crochets, has tried knitting and is simply a lurker on here. :) Feel free to follow along as we discuss projects, struggles, and rewards of the fiber arts.

I'm an award-winner!

Ladies,

Well, I did it - I won first place on my angora baby dress at the fair! I'm so excited! Here's the proof...

Now I'll have to think of what to make for next year - I think I'm now addicted! I want to win more ribbons. I cant wait to get it. The ribbon I mean. There will be no containing me once I have THAT to show off. Maybe Travis will let me frame it and hang it up in the new den. Next to his medieval weaponry! How quaint would that be! Anyway, I'm thrilled to pieces.

I have a couple projects going on right now. I finished up Stacy's sweater, it came out really nice. Here's it done, I do not yet have a pic of it actually ON her. Hopefully that will come soon.

While I was working on that and needed to be distracted by something less, uh, knitty... I had been working on a scarf in homespun. Easy peasy dc then sc across - my normal scarf pattern. (**completly as an aside, I'm watching Men in Trees and theres this dude on here named "Cash" and hello with the hot! Moving on.) And i swore that I would finish that scarf before doing anything else. I gave Stacy the sweater 2 weeks ago and REALLY should be done with the scarf by now but I've been not exactly in love with it and have been avoiding it like the plague! But, hate it like I do I swore that I would be project monogomous. I was determined not to start a sock no matter how tempting the sock yarn looked when I put it away in my new yarn pantry. Nope, no socks for me, just a boring old scarf.

What yarn pantry you say? Here's my bit of the area... well, the 2 shelves that actually have stuff on them - there are a total of 4 shelves. I like it, and it gives me the ability to thin out the stash in my bedroom. Not aleviate, just thin out which is really sad. (Blogger photos crapped out on me, so here's the link... http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a250/brandeekins/2007_02050008.jpg ). Yep, I like it. Guess I should have waited to do it until after the scarf.

Why?

That'd be the top of a sock. Whoops!

Love, Brandee.

It's done

Hi ladies,

The skirt is finished. Well, it's blocking now, but it's finished. Unfortnately, since I have not had time to make the underskirt for it, I won't be wearing it tomorrow night to our meeting. But I will bring it and hopefully will be finishing up the top to go with it. Here you go.....enjoy the crocheting goodness.....

So, let's see, I guess the appropriate thing now to say is, hmm, BITE ME! Ha! Got a skirt done! :) And can I just say that I LOVE this book? I already have yarn to do another project in it and the top I'm working on right now is from it. Doris Chan is an amazing designer and writes her patterns very well.

Okay, off to continue to rest before I go to work tomorrow (yes, I'm taking another day off today). I'll see y'all tomorrow night, skirt in hand!

Ta-ta,
Tracie
