Another Yarn

Name:

Just a blog between three friends, one a knitter who sometimes crochets (or so it seems), one a crocheter who struggles to learn knitting, and the other who crochets, has tried knitting and is simply a lurker on here. :) Feel free to follow along as we discuss projects, struggles, and rewards of the fiber arts.

Guess what I'm finishing up?

Good evening ladies,

I seriously should be doing about 20 other things right now, but I thought I'd take a moment to write here. Especially since Brandee's always harping on us about the whole regular posting thing. :)

Anyway, I am halfway through the final round of the skirt. That's right. The skirt. So, I believe the words Bite Me are coming to mind. :) I will likely finish it tomorrow at the hospital waiting on Mom to get out of surgery. Then I can block it over the weekend and hopefully have time to make a top to go with it by the next meeting in 2 weeks. So, be prepared, those of you with cameras, to take a picture so I can post it on here since I am apparently full of the stupid when it comes to getting my camera charged and such.

Okay, I've got to get back to work. Seriously. This supervisor stuff is harder than it looks.

Later,
Tracie

Sorry for the lack of writing...

Ladies,

I know, I know, I've been a slacker too! I havent even really crocheted or knitting anything much in the last two weeks. You know why, I know but I'll remind you...

6lbs, 5 oz
19 inches long.

Jake's been doing really well with him to, here he is, please ignore the chocolate face on the big one!

I am still working on Stacy's sweater - and by working I mean that in the past 11 days I have done the sum total of 3 rows on the last sleeve. Leaps and bounds, I tell you! I will try to get some more done today, we'll see how that works out. I also need to take a shower and fold some laundry, and probably eat something, but I'm not sure yet!

I'm looking forward to getting together tomorrow, it will be a fun time, I hope to see you both there.

Hugs, Brandee

Why do I do this to myself?

Good evening ladies,

I think there must be something wrong with me. Shut up, I'm sure there's lots wrong with me, but that's another post. I mean with my crocheting. Here's my dilema....

Secret afghan project - 85% complete. It was really due the first week of this month so it is now 3 weeks late. The next gift giving time that would make sense for this recipient is not until October. I could try to finish it up and give it to the recipient with a "oops, sorry" note. And that's likely what I should do. However....I'm BORED with it. It is just HDCs across. Boring. I'm over it. I want it to disappear.

New exciting project - skirt (shut up, it is so a skirt) - 85% complete. This one is rocking my socks right now. So easy, so quick moving, so pretty. It's out of the book Amazing Crochet Lace and uses Paton's Grace (my new fave yarn for right now). I love it. It's going to be awesome and I'm going to get lots of compliments on it.

Here's the dilema. There are people who are aware of secret afghan project and who it is for. Sooooo, so I explain to those people that I'm ran into an issue and will have to finish it later, or do I just suck it up and give it at a non gift giving time? Ugh. I hate having crochet ADD.

Anyway, I'm off. Hope to find my camera and get it charged so I can take pictures of the skirt once it's done (hopefully by this weekend). I'm ready to continue working on wearables. :) Have a good night, ladies.

Welcome to the world!

Dear readers,

Welcome our latest edition to the fiber arts....Sean Joseph! He came into the world on 1/8/07 weighing in at around 6lbs (okay, shoot me, I'm not a mom, I don't remember details like this). :) And yes, there will be pics forthcoming of him holding his first crochet hook with Gnomebert looking on. Mama and baby are doing well and hopefully will be going home tomorrow! More pics after that hopefully.

Anyway, here he is:

Guess who it is

Hey there gang, can you believe it?? It's Dani and she's blogging LOL

First off I have to show off my first feet picture, sweet Brandee made me these...

I just love them!!!!

I haven't really crocheting much because a family member has been in and out of the hosptial for the last several months so it's been hard.

I did however whip this up the other day for Hannah which she just loves!!

I made Jess one but need to take a pic later this week.

I think my next projects are going to be afghans for my two couches in the house. We need some light throws around here.

Well I'm off, gotta get some sleep so I can go to Brandon to visit Brandee tomorrow!!! Yoohooooo new baby coming to town tomorrow!
Toodles,
Dani
